"Sign of the Lord , Glorification in Creation" is a transcendent work that unites two of the Islamic artistic tradition's greatest strengths: the reverent beauty of Arabic calligraphy and the awe-inspiring grandeur of the natural world.
At the heart of this painting, a majestic sea turtle moves through crystalline blue waters, its shell adorned entirely in flowing golden Arabic calligraphy as though scripture itself has been woven into the fabric of the creature's being. Light pours through the surface of the ocean in divine rays, illuminating the turtle from above while small orange fish dart through coral and sea grass below. In the lower corner, silver calligraphy flows like a current, echoing the words from Surah Ar-Rahman: "Fa-bi-ayyi aalaa'i Rabbikuma tukadhdhibaan"So which of the favours of your Lord will you deny?"
The painting is at once a scientific marvel and a spiritual meditation. Every detail the texture of the shell, the movement of water, the interplay of light and depth is rendered with extraordinary care. Yet it is the calligraphy that elevates the work beyond realism into the realm of the sacred, reminding us that every living creature is itself a verse, a sign, a glorification of its Creator.
A profound and visually stunning piece for collectors of Islamic art, lovers of the ocean, and all who find God in the details of the created world.
